Cubs skipper Joe Maddon brought Pedro Strop aka #Stropie in after Carl Edwards Jr walked the bases loaded. The game was tied at 1 with 2 outs and the savvy vet Yadier Molina at the plate. He struck him out on a vicious slider to end the inning and the Cubs got out of the jam. "We're on the same page and he knows what i'm capable to do and Im so happy that he trusts my stuff and he trusts that I can be able to handle that kind of situation," says Strop. #Stropie has held batters to a .187 batting average (12-64) in 17.2 innings pitched this year. In the video below, he talks about the return of Dexter Fowler, getting back on the winning side of things and the trust Joe Maddon has in him.
The Cubs got a solo HR from Kris Bryant #TheNatural and 2 rbi's from #JHey as they beat the Cardinals 3-2 to stop a 6 game losing streak. The second game of this 3 game set is tomorrow afternoon with the first pitch set for 1:20.
