SOUTH SIDE -- Considering the fact that the White Sox were fresh off a sweep-dodging win in Boston, it still felt like the Suthsider's limped their way into Friday night's division matchup versus the Twins. Tim Anderson, who left Tuesday night's game in Boston with a high ankle sprain will be on the shelf for 4 to 6 weeks.
Down on the farm, Ian Hamilton(surgery to repair facial fractures) and Zack Burdi(Tommy John surgery) both suffered season-ending injuries. And word on Jake Burger who's recovering from two Achilles's injuries to the same heel(left) has suffered another setback.
It was one of those night's where it seemed fair to put a baseball game on the back-burner...but the 28.108 folks in attendance wouldn't leave disappointed as they watched the White Sox muscle their way to a 6-4 win vs A.L leading Minnesota Twins.
James McCann and Eloy "Mr Young & Reckless" Jimenez both served up two-run bombs on the way to the win.
Ross Detwiler, who many fans most likely never heard of before yesterday, settled in after giving up a 1st inning, two-run homerun to cruise through 5 inninhgs pitched giving up just 2 hits with 3 strikeouts. He picked up his first win of the season.
The win snaps a seven game losing streak to the Twins and improves their record to 38-41(21-17 at the crib).
