Kenwood's boys baseball team advances to the CPL semifinal with a 10-2 win over Payton.

The Broncos got the party started early in the bottom of 1 with a 3 spot but it was a 6 run bottom of 3 that opened the flood gates. An RBI double from Jimmy Downs, a 2 RBI single from Btandon Stinson, an RBI single from Lance Moon and a 2 RBI double from Damaurion Butler gave them a 9-1 lead.

Evan Stinson was impressive on the bump holding the Grizzlies to 4 hits and 2 runs while striking out 7.

With a second city championship in sight, Kenwood head couch Romey Bracey looks to lead his senior-laden squad to a memorable finish in his last season at the helm. "The focus will be on scoutng Whitney Young. Anything can happen in city playoff baseball. We'll be ready,"" he said.

They will face the Dolphins in game 1 of the semifinals at UIC on Monday at 4 pm.
