Chicago officially has its very first sports agency that focuses on representing women athletes in professional sports.
Ladies 1st Sports Agency, LLC. was founded by Shajuanna M. Jordan, the owner of the Chicago Breeze & Indianapolis Bandits of the IPWBL(Independent Professional Women's Basketball League which is the Sports Division of Ladies 1st)
Along with former WNBA player and University of Illinois standout Angelina Williams, their focus is to cater to the unique needs of females athletes, providing them the opportunity to pursue a life-long dream of playing professional sports. They want to provide the highest quality representation & management to athletes who want to maximize their potential on and off the playing field.
They offer evaluation and basketball enhancement services with the goal of developing successful female athletes. Jordan said she lives by 2 hashtags...#AthletesNotTomboys and #GirlsBecomeWomen.
"This has always been a long time dream of mine and it's finally here," Jordan said.
"Ladies 1st" is equipping a new wave of women's sports agents with the proper knowledge, critical thinking and most important, putting a focus on ethics and integrity.
Jordan and Williams already have WNBA Agent Brandi-Janai Carter on their team and have sent numerous women overseas to play professionally including Croatia, Iceland & Ecuador. They have a staff of five women and connections with over eleven overseas agents directly connected to team owners, GM's and coaches.
The current mission for "Ladies 1st" is representing female basketball players with hopes of expanding into all professional women's sports in the near future.
