Chicago (Wrigley Field) - "They just pitched a little better than we did tonight," says Cubs manager Joe Maddon as his guys were blanked by the Dodgers 2-0 on a night where really only one thing mattered....THE RING!
After 108 years, the Cubs were given their World Series championship rings in front of 40,844. A special night for many as Cubs legends Fergie Jenkins, Ryne Sandberg and Billy Williams were presented with rings. "Just to see all the bling...all the diamonds and everything it was crazy. For the fans to be able to hand them to us made it pretty special honestly. They did it all real well and it was a real fun thing," says Kyle Hendricks aka #PoetryInMotion.
Carl Edwards Jr aka #CJ was taking it all in. "I'm feeling pretty good man...a big day for a lot of guys. A big day for a lot of people man....108 diamonds!" I'm pretty sure CJ is looking to get back on the mound asap. He didn't have his best stuff Monday night when they raised the 2016 World Series banner.
The Cubs are looking to take the rubber match as LHP Brett Anderson (0-0 1.59 ERA) takes the mound for Chicago. The Dodgers throw LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu (0-1 3.86 ERA) as both teams look for their 6th win of the season. First pitch is set for 1:20 pm.
